The Best Celtic Christmas Music Ever

You can find a lot of Celtic Christmas music online if you know where to look. However, the key is knowing where to look. You see, the problem is that “Celtic Christmas” is as much a marketing term as it is an actual musical style. For those in the know, it’s more than just piano or guitar music, it’s an entire thought process. The best Celtic Christmas music is Celtic music fused together with Christmas themes.

A Celtic Christmas – Best Celtic Christmas music Ever

For that reason, I compiled a brand new compilation CD called A Celtic Christmas. The album features 17 tracks of Christmas songs by some of the best indie Celtic musicians online.

This is not your typical Celtic Christmas album though. And it’s not for everyone. It’s for Celtic music fans who want good, fun Celtic Christmas music. There are traditional carols like “The Holly and the Ivy” and “Galician Carol” (done as a brilliant set of tunes). There is Appalachian-style music like “Banjos We Have Heard on High”. You’ll hear traditional songs like “Silent Night”, “Hunting the Wren” and “I Saw Three Ships”. However, the real brilliant part of the album is the original Celtic Christmas songs like “Christmas Day”, “Irish Holiday”, “We’re All Home for Christmas”, “Bog Down in Christmas” and “Christmas in Pittsburgh 1943″. There are also some fantastic tunes like “Yule Log and Holly Berries”, “Cold Frosty Morning” and “Christmas Waltz.

My personal favorite song that brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it is “(Without You on) Christmas Day”. It’s a beautiful and touching song about family, loss, and Christmas love.

What makes this the best Celtic Christmas CD?

It’s one of the few albums that genuinely captures the feel of Christmas with Celtic music. It’s like a Christmas collage of Celtic passion and beauty. It’s not just Christmas carols with a generic sound. It’s the true spirit of Christmas by bands who love the holiday. You might not even find this much holiday spirit in the Celtic Christmas Podcast… okay, maybe there, but that’s about it.

Now all that said, there are some other good Celtic Christmas albums out there. I compiled an awesome Celtic Christmas album playlist on Amazon featuring music by The Irish Rovers, The Chieftains, Cherish the Ladies and many more. I also compiled a fun Celtic Christmas playlist on Spotify. If you want to sample some awesome Celtic Christmas music, that’s the place to go.
